As the first and only employee of her beginnings in Vermont, I was able to be a part of many amazing projects from start to finish handling everything from client presentations, project management between contractors, architects, and clients, sourcing materials, procurement, all the way to creating budgets, orders, and expediting. When it’s a team of two - all hands on deck!
Piper Interior Design
After Holly Moore moved from Vermont back to her home state of Texas, there were not many options left in the state of Vermont for a more modern take on design. So I took on small projects throughout that time from 2017-2020 under the business name Piper Interior Design. Below are some examples of some decor, renovations, consulting and AirBnBs that I worked on during that time.
Woodstock Kitchens
Designer May 2020-June 2021
As Covid hit and stay at home orders happened, housing boomed in Vermont as well as those rethinking their current homes. An opportunity opened up with a mutual colleague to join his team at Woodstock Kitchens. Here, I was able to open up the bath renovations market to the company as well as expanded offerings to include lighting and finishes such as tile backsplashes and flooring selections. All cabinetry is made by Tedd Wood Cabinetry - Custom made to designers specifications.
Brooke Michelsen Design

While my stay with Woodstock Kitchens was incredibly positive and feel as though I gained more than just new co-workers - my heart missed interior design. I joined BMD as it’s first employee and have grown the procurement side of the business, office operations, and bookkeeping as well as enabling Brooke to expand the amount of projects we were able to take on. We have now grown to a team of 4 with the addition of a 3rd designer who does much of our drawing as well as an intern. Since this is a small team, I help with all aspects of a job - everything from onboarding, operations, procurement, invoicing/time billing, reconciliation, project and client management and of course design. We specialize in creating high-end interiors and custom millwork and furniture. We work closely with the team at Birdseye Architecture to create many of the new construction homes throughout the North East, onboarding the project as soon as possible to create a seamless interior. - Please inquire for more photography as many of the homes we are working on are in the construction and procurement phase.
